Parks and Recreation Commission

The Parks and Recreation Commission was established in July 2008 as the first step in development of the strong parks & recreation system to be enjoyed for years to come.

Members are appointed by the Mayor, with approval of the City Council, for two year terms with equal representation required by ordinance from among the City’s four wards.

The Parks & Recreation Commission provides the citizen perspective to the professional staff in all matters relating to the operation and maintenance of the city park system and the Frank Munsch Community Center
