Established in 2008, the Parks & Recreation Commission was the first step in developing a strong Parks & Recreation system in the City of Overland. The Commission is made up of eight (8) resident members, with two representatives from each of Ward. Commission members are appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council, and serve a term of two years, or until their successors are appointed and qualified.
The Parks & Recreation Commission provides recommendations to the City Council for the operation and maintenance of City Parks & Recreation facilities. For detailed information on the establishment, duties, and authority of the Parks & Recreation Commission, please visit City Code Chapter 250.
